Where are all the homebuyers? On mobile apps and responsive websites!

Homebuilders, are you keeping your mobile audience captive? How does your website look on mobile? If you’re not sure, you need to check out this mobile media report!

According to a recent report by the Internet technology analysts at ComScore, mobile phones now account for 62% of all time spent online and media users spend most of their time in mobile apps. 44% of the 62% is spent on smartphone apps, which is a huge boost from two years ago.

What does this mean to you as a builder? You better be active on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, so users can access your information and photos when spending time on their smartphone apps. As for the most popular app? Facebook’s main platform led the way with nearly 126 million unique visitors back in June.

Google Research also reports that 72% of users want more mobile-friendly sites, and a website that is not mobile-friendly will drive 40% of users to click on another mobile site. This backs up the importance of a responsive website!

Bottom line: Show up on social media sites that are most relevant to your company (for builders, this almost always means Facebook and photo-based sites like Houzz and Pinterest) so you’re front and center when today’s homebuyer is searching you on their smartphone and apps!
