Happy Anniversary: The House That She Built Evolves Into a National Movement

The House That She Built Anniversary

Hard to believe, but it was just one year ago that The House That She Built was published. What started as a children’s book about STEAM and construction careers, dedicated to elevating women in the industry, has become a true movement within the homebuilding industry!

It has inspired everything from a line of jewelry to a Girl Scout Patch Program to activities for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. In addition to making an impact on skilled workforce development, diversity, and inclusion in the construction industry, this incredible book received the prestigious IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award.

Group Two is proud to be spearheading the marketing efforts as The House That She Built inspires young readers to consider the trades as a career path, as well as promoting the conversation that careers in construction build the future.

The House That She Built has received widespread industry support, with heavyweights such as MiTek, 84 Lumber, and Andersen Corporation sponsoring the book and supporting its mission to further workforce development initiatives in home building by generating awareness of the skilled trades to underrepresented communities.
