Recently, members of the Group Two team attended PCBC in San Francisco. Mollie, Georgia, Alexis, and Chelsey loved taking part in discussions with other industry leaders, catching up with industry partners and friends, and exploring the City By The Bay! Here are some of their takeaways from their trip:

MOLLIE

“We had perfect weather for the first year back in person!

“I was particularly blown away by the California Building Industry Association’s Professional Women in Building event. The energy in the room was very inspiring.

“It was really fun to be on the floor with Weyerhaeuser and the DEI booth, signing The House That She Built books and sharing the movement.

“I was so excited by the announcement from PWB Bay Area that they will be building The House That She Built Bay Area! Woohooo!

“The highlight was definitely meeting Sheryl Palmer, Chair and CEO of Taylor Morrison, in person, and sharing The House That She Built Girl Scout patch with her.”

GEORGIA

“I enjoyed listening to Victor Mezhvinsky, founder at FORMA Construction, share his story. I loved the detail in which he made fun of his roommate for obsessing over sports, and then his roommate called him out for obsessing over real estate in the same way. His passion was right there in front of him and he didn’t even realize it.”

“A big highlight was Brek Goin, founder & CEO at Hammr, and Matt Panella, founder at Support the Youth, Inc., who spoke on the power of influence. I loved hearing how they started their businesses and their real-life examples of just figuring it out as they went. It honestly changed my opinion on the idea of a social media influencer and the positive impact it can have.”

“I formed new connections in some unexpected pockets and side conversations at the round tables and happy hour. It was fun to learn we share similar challenges with industry partners, and then to be able to swap ideas on how to solve them.”

“Enjoying the chicharrones de carne tacos at sunset on the roof of El Techo with old and new industry friends 😉 And of course, Alexis falling into the tub of ping pong balls.”

ALEXIS

“It was a great networking opportunity. The smaller groups allowed for more meaningful, intimate conversations. Face-to-face time with industry partners and clients always builds stronger relationships and connections.”

“It’s always great to have confirmation on the market shift and what everyone is feeling, how they are dealing with it. We can bring back those external thoughts and recommendations to our builders.”

“San Fran is a wonderful city!”

CHELSEY

“I have been to multiple IBS shows over the past 8 years, but had never attended PCBC. It was much smaller, more intimate. I was able to make more meaningful connections because I feel like people weren’t rushing to fit a million things into their day.

“Sparking a really fantastic discussion at the Marketing Circle during the Under 40 Summit. We were able to have some great, open conversations with industry leaders!

“I felt really inspired by meeting other 40 under 40 honorees, and hearing about their accomplishments from the past couple of years.

“I love being able to connect with other industry friends and have a truly great time with them.

As students of the industry, we love to get out there and learn from our partners and colleagues. See you at the next conference!
